ALDI Grocery Haul | What Our Family Buys Again

Back in May, I decided to film our cart during one of our regular ALDI grocery trips.

At the time, it was just an ordinary grocery run. But looking back a few months later, I noticed something interesting.

Some of the items were new to us, some have become regular buys, and others simply weren’t a good fit for our family after we tried them.

For us, a good buy isn’t just about the price. I also look at whether my kids will actually eat it, whether it helps me get meals on the table quickly, and whether I can use it in more than one way.

So instead of another list of ALDI must-buys, I wanted to share what our family of five actually bought, how we used it, and which items still make it into our cart today.

Here’s what was actually in our ALDI cart that day.

Avocados We Still Buy at ALDI

Avocados are one of the items that regularly make it into our cart at ALDI.

We make avocado toast often, so they’re easy to use up and rarely go to waste in our house.

They also make it easy to put together a quick meal with very little prep, especially on busy mornings or whenever we want something simple.

I’ve realized that the ingredients we buy most often tend to have a few things in common: my family enjoys them, they’re easy to prepare, and I can use them for different meals.

We often use avocados for a simple breakfast. my husband andpost.

Fresh Peeled Garlic: A Regular ALDI Buy

We use a lot of garlic in our cooking, so peeled garlic is something I like to keep on hand.

What I like most about ALDI’s Fresh Peeled Garlic is the amount. It’s just right.

The package at Costco is more than we can usually use while it’s still fresh, and at the Korean grocery stores I shop at, I sometimes have trouble finding garlic from the origin I’m looking for.

The ALDI package is small enough for us to finish while the garlic is still fresh, and then I can simply pick up another one when we need it.

Because it’s already peeled and works in so many dishes, it also saves me a little prep time on busy days.

That’s why Fresh Peeled Garlic is still one of my regular ALDI buys.

For our family, buying only what we can actually use works better than stocking up on a larger package just because it costs less. We use it fresh in different meals, finish it, and simply buy more when we need it.

What We Made After Our ALDI Grocery Trip: Carbonara

After this grocery trip, I made carbonara for dinner.

We ate it together as a family, and the leftovers became lunch for the next day.

One thing I think about more and more when planning meals is whether I can cook once and make that food work for another meal too.

Between packing lunch for my husband and myself—and sometimes the kids—being able to turn dinner into the next meal saves time and helps us make better use of the food we already have.

A Popular ALDI Find: Would We Buy Mama Cozzi’s Pizza Again?

Not everything in our cart that day was something we normally buy.

I had heard that Mama Cozzi’s Pizza was one of those ALDI finds worth trying, so I was curious and picked one up.

I baked it according to the package directions at first, but it seemed a little underdone for our taste, and the kids weren’t too excited about it either.

So I put it back in the oven for about eight more minutes.

That made it much better.

The pizza itself wasn’t bad. The bigger issue for us was the size andI spent prepping the night before.

It was too large to fit comfortably in the air fryer we often use for quick meals, so it just didn’t work particularly well with our usual routine.

When I considered whether the kids enjoyed it, how easy it was to prepare, and how practical it would be for our family,it didn’t end up becoming a repeat buy.

It was a good reminder that even a popular ALDI recommendation may or may not work for your family depending on how you cook and eat at home.

Organic Honey: Simple, Affordable, and Easy to Use

Organic Honey is another ALDI product we’ve been happy with.

The price felt reasonable, and the honey didn’t harden too quickly while we were using it, which made it easy to reach for whenever we needed it.

There’s nothing particularly fancy about it, but when I consider the price and how easy it is to use, it’s something I’m happy to buy again.

Sometimes those simple, practical products are the ones that keep finding their way back into our cart.

Back Then, Baby Food Was Part of Our ALDI Cart Too

When I filmed this grocery haul in May, our youngest was still under a year old.

She only had about three teeth at the time and was still eating baby food, so fruit puree pouches were part of our grocery cart too.

Baby snacks were another item I would often pick up at ALDI.

It hasn’t been that long, but looking back at the video now, I can see how much of our grocery shopping at the time was shaped by what our youngest could eat.

Even with the same family, the grocery cart changes little by little as the kids grow and their eating habits change.

What Makes an ALDI Product Worth Buying Again for Our Family

Looking back at this ALDI grocery haul a few months later made it much easier to see what actually turns something into a repeat buy for us.

A popular recommendation isn’t automatically the right choice for our family, and buying in bulk isn’t always the most economical option if we can’t use everything efficiently.

For us, the products we buy again tend to have three things in common.

First, my kids and family actually eat it.

No matter how good a product sounds, it isn’t a good value for us if nobody wants to eat it and it ends up going to waste.

Second, it helps me make meals quickly and efficiently.

On busy weekdays, ingredients that require less prep and can go straight into a meal naturally get used more often.

Third, I can use it in more than one meal.

Ingredients that work for breakfast, dinner, lunches, or several different recipes are much more practical for our family than something we use only once.

In the end, price matters, but it isn’t the only thing that determines whether something makes it back into our cart. I also think about whether my family will eat it, whether it saves me time, and whether I can use it in different ways.

That’s why I don’t want The Lovely 셋 to be a place where I simply say, “You have to buy this.” I’d rather share what we actually buy, eat, cook, and use in our everyday life.

That includes the things that worked well for us, the things we decided not to buy again, and the things that didn’t quite meet our expectations.

Sometimes one family’s real experience can make another family’s next grocery trip a little easier.

If there’s something you always buy at ALDI—or something you think we should try—let me know.

If it looks like a good fit for our family, I’d be happy to try it and share how it actually worked for us.

Less time. Less waste. A little more efficiency.

And that’s where the first story of The Lovely 셋 begins.
